Pretty Print - JSON

In "Log Entry Menu" there is an option for "Pretty Print".

Is there a way to enable "Pretty Print" (e.g., JSON) for all log entries?

Currently, you have to turn it on manually for each log entry, but I'd like to see my raw log entries in JSON by default.

Hi Remo - thanks for your feedback.

Currently, the only way to get the behavior you are looking for is to use the JSON Parser.  Obviously, if your log entries are not JSON then this isn't going to work for you.

I can see where having a default setting for the whole file would be helpful, but I also think this feature is a bit niche and I don't want to over-complicate application settings.  I think the best approach might be to have a "change default for entire log file" check box setting option which could be used to determine if the existing "Pretty Print" command works for the current log entry (existing behavior) or the entire log file.

Would this meet your requirements?  I think this is something we can probably put into the next release.

Thanks,

Toby

Yes... a "change default for entire log file" check box setting option - would be perfect!

Thanks for confirming.  We should be able to get this feature in for the next release due out later this month.  I will post back here when the beta is ready.

Thanks again,

Hi Remo,

Just to let you know, we have released LogViewPlus v2.3.18 which contains a new configuration setting which allows you to modify the behavior of the "change syntax highlight" command.

Please see Syntax Highlight settings in v2.3.18 or greater for more information.

Thanks,

Toby
