LogViewPlus 3.1.22 is out! This is a solid incremental release that builds on the SQL and reporting features we introduced in 3.0. It also includes several usability improvements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life changes that should make working with your log files a bit easier.

A few highlights:
  • Grid column settings can now be saved in merged log files and message parsers. We’ve also added a new UI to help manage columns more easily.
  • The Elapsed column can now be used in SQL queries (we also addressed an export bug).
  • Added logarithmic scale as a new option in reporting charts.
  • SQL support has been extended to handle the TIME data type, and the CONVERT function now accepts style parameters for formatting.
  • Default log reader encoding is now UTF-8 instead of the Windows default — which should help with compatibility.
  • LogViewPlus will now check available memory before attempting to open large files.
We’ve also made a number of smaller improvements:
  • Better support for network shares.
  • More consistent behavior when comparing log entries or using the Parse Message command.
  • Navigation panel and message size settings will now persist between sessions.
  • Pretty printing for XML/JSON now optionally supports escape characters.
  • Some tweaks to how shortcut keys are handled.
This release also includes a long list of bug fixes — mostly around edge cases in merged files, exporting, SQL functions, and log parsing.

That's all for now! We hope you find the update useful, and we look forward to your feedback.
