Last selected log entry in filter bug

Hi,

I noticed that when I switch between filters, sometimes the last selected log entry in a specific filter changes instead of remaining the same. This is confusing. This happens when I double-click a line and then return to the previous filter.

Hi Blaz,

Thanks for reporting this issue.

The selected log entry should remain focused if possible.  Does the log entry exist in the filter?  Is auto-scroll enabled?  Is this a merge file, or just a regular log file?

Thanks,

Toby

I am on a filter derived from a merged files filter. I double click on the penultimate log entry. The log entry in the parent filter is shown. On the filter list I click on the original filter I was on. Now the last entry is selected instead of the one I double clicked on, as I would expect. Tail log file is enabled for all files but no new data written in log files.

If the last entry in a filter is selected, this will enable auto-filter mode.  At this point, switching between filters will also select the last entry in those filters.  So, the 'maintain focused log entry' behavior is overridden by the 'auto-scroll' behavior.  This will be the case even if no new log entries are written.

Could this be what is happening here?  If so, try disabling tail on the file.

Hope that helps,

Toby

I'm not selecting the last entry at any point. Also the tail option is disabled.

I am able to recreate the problem now.  Thanks for pointing this issue out Blaz!

I will take a look and post back here when a BETA release is available.

Thanks,

Toby
