LogViewPlus v3.1.18 is now available with support for 7-Zip compression via an Add-On. We decided to use the Add-On approach for this feature due to the new licensing requirements from using a third-party 7-Zip control.

We also added support for long paths in Windows when the LongPathsEnabled registry setting is set. This issue was brought to our attention in the forums.

This is our 6th release for 2024! It's been a very busy year and we have made a lot of progress with improving our SQL and reporting engine as well as with performance and stability.

What's Next?

We want to expand LogViewPlus to more use cases by removing the requirement for log entries to have a timestamp. This is an original requirement and a lot of features are enabled by this assumption - so removing it will be a big task. But it would be great to be able to use LogViewPlus on CSV files! In particular, I think it could be a great solution for CSV -> SQL reporting, but other features such as text transformations could also be useful.
