Today we are excited to announce
LogViewPlus 2.4! This version of LogViewPlus supports database connectivity with full support for SQL Server, My SQL, Oracle, SQLite, Postgre SQL as well as any OLE DB or ODBC compliant database.
We have been working on this release since the beginning of the year. This represents a major architectural change for LogViewPlus because it is the first release where we are not working with files.
Why is this a big deal? Even if you do not store your log entries in a database, this is still an important step toward getting data from anywhere in the organization. Now that this building block is complete, we can focus on additional data sources like Windows Event Logs, SysLog, UDP, or other network log access. Our plan is to release a new data store for every other release (so, about once every month or two) between now and the 3.0 release.
Of course - there are lots of other enhancements and bug fixes in 2.4 including new filter types, enhanced parser capabilities, and an improved UI. You can check out the
full release notes for more.
Check it out and let us know what you think!
Cheers,
Toby
