Hi,

This is something that a lot of users want to see and we would love to release.  However, as a small company we have limited resources and right now we are focused on delivering a strong Windows experience.

Microsoft has been working on a technology called .Net Core which would significantly reduce our development costs.  However, at this point we believe the technology is too immature.

We are watching .Net Core development closely and when the technology is ready we will be launching support for these operating systems.  However, this might take several years.

Hope that helps,

Toby

Thanks Meni,

We are aware of this support but it is not that easy.  LogViewPlus is dependent on several libraries including some 3rd party libraries.  LogViewPlus is really built on an ecosystem that needs to be - not just released in .Net Core - but stable and ready for production.

Microsoft made some exciting announcements last year regarding multi-platform GUI's, but it takes a while for this technology to be stable and for third party developers to respond.  We do not plan to be early adopters.

LogViewPlus also makes use of a lot of Win32 APIs which bypass .Net and will not likely be supported.  This will be a completely different challenge.  :-)

Hope that helps,

Toby

Unfortunately, no.  The technical landscape has not changed much in the last few years with regard to thick client multi-platform support.

This is still something that we would like to support, but it is not currently planned.

Hope that helps,

Toby
