Hi all,
Love this log tool so far!
My logs roll after they reach a certain size and the new log has a slightly different filename.
Example:
ApplicationLog.20190612.0.log
<< current tailing log
ApplicationLog.20190612.0.log.lck
<< lock file indicates name of current tailing log
ApplicationLog.20190612.1.log
ApplicationLog.20190612.1.log
ApplicationLog.20190611.0.log
ApplicationLog.20190611.1.log
ApplicationLog.20190611.1.log
So, when I tail the current tailing log and the log rolls over, the current tail stops and I have to manually specify the next log file to keep tailing.
Am I able to monitor for the change and automatically roll over to tailing the new log? Maybe a way to trigger off the .lck file?
I went through the documentation but I couldn't figure out which feature might support this. if there is one ..
Any tips you have would be appreciated!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the feedback - glad to hear you are finding LogViewPlus useful.
The feature you are looking for is Directory Monitoring:
https://www.logviewplus.com/docs/monitor_a_directory.html
https://www.logviewplus.com/docs/monitor_directory.html
If you monitor the directory and set a merge file, LogViewPlus will just write all log entries into one file. This might make things a little bit easier to manage.
Once you have it setup the way you want, you can save the directory monitor as part of a workspace:
https://www.logviewplus.com/docs/save_a_workspace.html
This makes it easier to monitor the log files later.
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions or issues.
Thanks,
Toby
