LogViewPlus 2.4.18 is now available.  This release contains two big new features: direct access to Windows Event Logs and opening compressed files (Zip, Tar, GZip).   


It feels good to finally get direct Windows Event Log access out the door.  This is a feature that could easily have made it into LogViewPlus v1.0, but we decided to stay focused on log files.  We knew we needed the infrastructure of directory browsing in place if we wanted to implement Windows Event Log access properly.  Most of this infrastructure was added while adding database support.

That said - I actually think opening archives will be more helpful to most users.  LogViewPlus has had a workaround for this feature for years, but it was frankly a bit clunky.  Now, archives can be opened seamlessly.

This release includes a lot of other great features and bug fixes.  In fact, this is probably one of the biggest releases we have ever done - so it is well worth an upgrade.  Check it out and let us know what you think!
