Exporting SQL results is not currently supported, but I think it's a great idea. I particularly like the idea of exporting from the
SQL Scratchpad
- at least to start. I can look into it for the next release.
LogViewPlus currently does not support automation. In the medium term, I don't think this would be worth the effort without more customer demand.
Thanks for the great suggestion!
Toby

Hi Toby,
My company was fully intent on investing in the product, but this is a non starter for us really, unless there is someway to achieve export functionality via custom .NET extensions?
Regards
Tony

LogViewPlus actually has a automation API which we use for integration testing, but we disable this in release builds. The problem is it would be difficult to document the API for others to use.
How many licenses was your company interested in? If we could put something like this into a command line operation, how would you expect it to work?

Essentially we want to harness LogViewPlus to do the "heavy lifting" in so far as getting the data an acceptable tabular format, but then export it to a DB where we can curate it further using reporting tools e.g. Power BI

That's an interesting use case. To automate this would require custom development on our end. At the moment, I am not seeing a lot of demand for this kind of functionality, but it's something to keep in mind for the future.
Regarding the data export, as I say, I think that's a great idea and something we can put into the next release. Hopefully we can have a BETA release out soon.

Just a quick update to let you know that we have now released LogViewPlus 3.1.14 as a
BETA release
. As discussed above, this release includes a new feature which allows you to export SQL query data more easilly. A Export CSV command is now available when you right-click on the SQL data table results.
Hope that helps,
Toby
